Pink Cottage oil on paper 8"x6" ©2013 Maggie Ruley SOLD unframed |
Pink Cottage is my first painting for the 30 day challenge. I might want to work on it some more. But this is as far as I am taking it today. I did use the odds and ends of paint left on my palette from today to lay in some colors for future paintings. It feels good to have the first painting done and future paintings started.

Maggie, this is So KW! Almost has a soft pastel feel...must be the lighter acrylic over your pink/red ground. If you feel inclined would you paint 906 Pohalski Lane (not far from the Studios of KW and on the same street as the Coffee Mill. ...as that is our old house. It used to be pink with palms outside....but who knows what it looks like now.I have not even begun my painting for today yet as we have been up at the new house all day painting walls. Must get to it.
ReplyDeleteOh...I meant oil, not acrylic......
ReplyDeleteI am curious to see which house is yours. I painted Pohalski St. once, but I called it Sea Breeze Lane. I'll see if I can add your old house into the challenge.
ReplyDeleteMaggie, cute little porch out front and when I lived there some nice cat tiles on the porch. After we sold, the new owners may have changed things. Fran Decker painted it once for me in her colorful style and I still love that canvas...she called it Maggie's Cat House....she might even still be selling prints of it.. It would be great if you could add it in the challenge.
ReplyDeleteWonderful piece!
ReplyDeleteSee you around Leslie's blog!
Hi Maggie, you're up to a very good start with this stylish house of yours!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pati A , and Helen you too. This morning, Monday, I am going to go back and see all the first day paintings.
ReplyDeleteI love this!!!!! It reminds me of our trip last year to see you and Key West! The colors are great! Love your idea of a painting a day for 30 days.
ReplyDeleteI have the print of Sea Breeze Lane! When I bought it at Seven Artists, they told me you painted it on Pohlaski Street. What a quaint street. I love this painting.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm walking down a street in kw
