Le Coq Van Gogh

This year's fund raising event for The Studios of Key West is Conch A Doodle.  50 free standing wooden roosters have been distributed to artists across the island.  Each artist is free to handle the subject as she/he sees fit.  Given the many different attitudes towards our island's free range roosters and hens, I think TSKW will get back a real variety of finishes.
My own personal take on creating items for fund raising events is that I want to do something with appeal that will generate income for the hosting group.
So I went Van Gogh, who doesn't like Starry Night?  Who doesn't like Sunflowers in a vase?
Well, maybe someone.  But I think the themes hold appeal for most people and some one will want to buy this rooster.
The 50 finished roosters are going on display in a group show next Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Studios monthly open house.  Then the roosters are going out into the town to be on display until the auction, which is sometime this spring.
I'll try to take pictures at the event.
