Trying out my new watercolor paints.

I have been working with my new watercolor paints for the last week or so.  I bought them for the Robert Burridge workshop, but didn't use them.  I decided to just stay focused on the acrylic landscapes while in the workshop.  But they are lovely Holbein paints and with some great 300 lb paper I started to play around.  I decided to continue the cloudscape theme.  I really enjoyed doing these and I can see myself doing more in the future.  These are small.  Each image is 5 x 7.  Maybe when I get a little more confident I'll go larger, but right now this small size seems manageable for me.

Maggie Ruley in Russia?

It was pretty interesting to find my images on this Russian web site.  You have to scroll down just a little to get to my images.  The link to that site is below.

But on another note,  I worked at the gallery this morning and the hen and peeps were waiting to get in the gallery.  Early bird special anyone?  Or maybe they were attracted to the two new rooster paintings I brought in to the gallery on Sunday.

You know the economy is picking up when...............

...........a mother hen and her brood of nine chicks can go shopping on Duval Street in Key West.

 Aren't they cute?
Here are several different watercolors I did of the peep's baby daddy!

No really, spring is hen and baby peep time here in Key West.  Traffic comes to a stop when they decide to cross the road.  These peeps live in the tiny alley behing the gallery.  The day before Easter mom brought them out to the front.  But for some reason they decided to go in the store next store instead of ours?  Maybe it was because we were having our spring open house and it was too noisy.  The rooster watercolors were done in the studio the week before just because I wanted to use my new Holbein watercolors.  My new favorite color is "Opera".
